  _x000D_ As the Factory lines age, the softness increases. Each time you press the brake pedal, some hydraulic energy is wasted as stock rubber brake lines expand, reducing effective braking power and causing a soft, spongy feel, which worsens as the lines age, this can be mitigated by fitting new rubber lines.
