Boat Navigation Lights
Rwb Led Port & Starboard Horizontal Stainless Steel Navigation Lights
Don't Pay RRP: $117.00
When identifying Port (left side of the vessel) & Starboard (right side of the vessel), this is also indicated by boat navigation lights (Red & Green) located towards the bow. A stern light, also known as an All-round white light or Anchor light, is used to identify a vessel at anchor. This light must be visible 360 degrees around the boat. If an object or person obstructs its 360-degree visibility, it does not meet legal requirements.
Boat navigation lights show the boat's size and the angle from which you observe them. When the boat is underway or anchored, the direction it is traveling is outlined by the appropriate boat navigation lights. The manufacturer or an authorized individual should install boat navigation lights. Bracketed or combination suction-capped lights are available for smaller vessels. At Outback Equipment, we provide these types of boat navigation lights.
If you are operating a powered boat, instead of sidelights, powered boats under 7 meters in length and with a maximum speed of 7 knots may display an all-around white light. These boats should, if possible, have sidelights. Sidelights and either an all-around white light or a stern and masthead light are required for powered boats of any size. Sailboats propelled by an engine are considered powered boats and must display the same lights as powered boats. Powered boats, including personal watercraft operating in low light conditions, must install boat navigation lights.
The manufacturer's instructions must be followed when installing boat navigation lights. On a personal watercraft, a mast for an all-around white light should be positioned so it does not pose a risk of impaling. Any aftermarket components added to a PWC must be installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines and must not compromise the hull's watertight integrity. On a personal watercraft, navigation lights should be mounted in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. On moored or anchored boats, all vessels moored to a buoy must have a white navigation light on all sides. There are many different kinds of navigation lights with various features, so be sure to check them out here.
