Collection Notice
This Collection Notice sets out details of how and why Outback Equipment (Aust) Pty Ltd including each of its subsidiaries, brands and divisions from time to time, (collectively referred to as the ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘our’ or the ‘Outback Equipment’), collects personal information. In this Collection Notice, ‘you’ refers to any individual about whom we collect personal information in Australia.

How and why we collect personal information
Outback Equipment collects personal information to register and manage your member account, take your orders and deliver your orders.
Personal information we will typically collect includes your name, date of birth, gender, contact details, including residential and delivery addresses, login information (including registration passwords and usernames) and other user IDs, information about your browsing behaviours, orders and purchases, including payment card and transaction details, and feedback provided about our products and services. We also collect general site traffic data.
We will collect this information when you use our services or interact with us, either electronically (e.g. via websites (including through technologies, such as cookies), apps, social media, chats, telephone, emails and/or SMS) or telephone. We may also collect personal information on about you from third parties where you have agreed with them that your information may be disclosed with us.
Information we collect via mobile devices or smart devices (e.g. smart watches) includes the device type and model and version of your browser and, your device ID and other device metrics, as allowed by your device permissions. We may also collect metadata including social media content (including tags, handles and other social media profile information) when you create an account on a website operated by Outback Equipment and authenticate with a third party social media service.
Typically, we will use your personal information to:
1. provide you with information that you have requested; 2. verify your identity; 3. contact you; 4. process orders you make through our websites or apps; 5. add you to our mailing list; 6. send you marketing materials; 7. promote our products and services, including via direct marketing or tailored advertising; 8. deliver to you the products that you have ordered and provide you with customer service following these orders; 9. improve the website experience of our visitors; 10. provide personalised experienced and personalised recommendations; 11. provide products or services to you or to receive products or services from you; 12. address any issues, problems or complaints that we or you have regarding our relationship; 13. contract with you; and 14. comply with our legal obligations.
We also use personal information for our own internal business purposes, such as:
1. for data analysis to improve our products, services and business; 2. auditing our internal processes to ensure they function as intended and that we comply with regulatory requirements; 3. for fraud and security monitoring; 4. developing new products and services; 5. identifying usage trends so we can understand which part of our services are of most interest to our customers; 6. determining the effectiveness of marketing campaigns so that we can adapt to the needs and interests of our customers; and 7. operating and expanding our business activities such as understanding which of our products and services are of most interest to our customers, s o we can focus on our customers’ needs.
Are we required by law to collect your personal information?
We are not required by law to collect any personal information you may provide to us when seeking access to our products or services.
Consequences if personal information is not collected
The main consequence of us not collecting your personal information is that we may not be able to provide products, services or information to you, or be able to provide them to the same standard as if we had the information requested.
Depending on how you deal with us, it’s possible we may need to collect other types of personal information necessary to respond to your needs. Without this information, we may not be able to do so.
Sharing personal information
We may share personal information to our service providers or between our related entities and affiliates. Some personal information may be transferred to such parties in countries outside of Australia in the course of our business. Your personal information may be subject to the laws of the countries in which it is stored or used. By providing us with any personal information, you understand that your information may be transferred, processed, or stored outside of your country of residence, which may have a different data protection regime from the country in which you reside.
We will not supply, sell or in any other knowing way, make available your personal information to other parties other than in the circumstances outlined above, unless you authorise us to do so .
